As part
of the Convention Center Hotel agreement, the City
will extend Fayetteville Street in the 1/2 block north of Lenoir Street to
the same standards as in Fayetteville Street
Phase 1. Also designs for what is being called City Plaza,
between the Sheraton Hotel at the terminus of Fayetteville Street Phase 1,
and the current site of the City Underground Parking Deck (under
construction as of Dec. 2006), are being developed and will be presented
to the City Council in February 2007. The City design team is being
led by Kimley-Horn Associates
and is being assisted by the Project for
Public Spaces in New York. The images represented here are working sketches of ideas that are being explored. For more information contact Dan Douglas at the Urban Design Center. |
