Annual Resurfacing Contract PW2008-2

This project covers the resurfacing of 39.7 miles of city streets and approximately 55,615 tons of asphalt. Public Works crews will adjust 837 manholes and 896 water valves and install approximately 14,865 tons of asphalt as pavement patching and mill approximately 380,012 square yards of asphalt surface.

Falls of Neuse Rd Realignment & Widening

This project calls for Falls of Neuse Road to be widened to a multi-lane roadway beginning southof Raven Ridge Road and continuing on existing alignment to approximately Lowery Farms Road then traversing on new location across the Neuse River to connect to New Falls of Neuse Road in Wakefield.

Hillsborough Street Redesign

Hillsborough Street will be converted to a two-lane section with a median from Gardner Street to Oberlin Road. A two-lane roundabout will be added at the intersection of Hillsborough Street and Pullen Road, and a single-lane roundabout will be added at the intersection of Oberlin Road and the new extension of Pullen Road.

Rock Quarry Road Widening Part B

This project will involve widening of Rock Quarry Road from a basic two-lane roadway to a five-lane facility beginning 1000’ west of Sunnybrook Road  to approximately 300’ west of Friendly Trail. Medians are not included in order to allow for the reversal of lanes during special event traffic at Walnut Creek Amphitheater.
