Redevelopment Activities

The Community Development Department (CD) annually undertakes a variety of improvement activities with its Community Development Block Grant funds in the City’s Redevelopment Areas. These sites are listed under related information. These activities help implement the City’s adopted Redevelopment Plans and include housing rehabilitation, site acquisition, and relocation of residents of dilapidated housing to standard quality housing. Community Development prepares an annual Action Plan that guides these investments with input from City residents. The last public review sessions were held November 21, 2005 and January 19, 2006. Every five years, a long-term Consolidated Plan  also is prepared. Pages 62-64 of the Consolidated Plan contain information about the Redevelopment Areas.
