Position Title: Project Engineer II

Salary Range: $49,481 - $84,912

Minimum Requirements:  At least 4 years of relevant experience with an emphasis in stormwater management.  Bachelor's Degree in Civil and/or Environmental Engineering.  Master's Degree in Water Resources and/or Environmental Engineering preferred.  Knowledge and proven experience with planning, analysis, design, and construction of stormwater management projects.  Experience working with the public, regulatory permitting agencies, contractors, consultants, elected officials, and other stakeholders required.  Registration as a Professional Engineer (PE) in the State of North Carolina preferred.  Engineering Intern (EI) certification required.  A Valid NC Class "C" Driver's License.

Position Duties:  Works within a team environment, serves as Project Engineer/Project Manager throughout the entire planning, analysis, design, and construction process for major stormwater improvement projects.  Reviews, manages, and approves the work of other engineers and technicians within project team.  Manages consultants and contractors to carry out required studies, analysis, design, and construction activities.  Prepares and evaluates reports and plans, contract documents, and technical designs and specifications for construction of stormwater improvement projects.  Helps facilitate public meetings and prepares reports, payment requests, contracts, change orders and drafts project budgets. Interacts with citizens and other stakeholders for successful stormwater project planning and implementation.
