The Mayor's Unity Day breakfast will held in conjunction witht he Martin Luther King Celebration Committee, January 17, 2009 at 8:00 AM - 12:30 PM at the Convention Center, 500 Salisbury Street.
Celebrate the human diversity of the Triangle! This year the Mayor’s Unity Day reaches beyond the Raleigh city limits. Join other citizens and community leaders in open dialogue to learn and share ideas on how to enhance understanding of diverse cultures, build inclusiveness, and strengthen human relations in our growing city.

Mayor Charles Meeker hosted the first Mayor's Unity Breakfast on Dec. 9, 2006, at North Carolina State University's Jane S. McKimmon Center, 1101 Gorman St. The City of Raleigh Human Relations Commission sponsored the unity breakfast.
The unity breakfast, which organizers plan to make an annual event, included welcoming remarks from Mayor Meeker, a buffet-style breakfast, a panel discussion followed by a question-and-answer session, and breakout sessions and presentations.
