Southeast Raleigh Assembly

Serving as advisory board to the City Council, SERA’s main focus is to concentrate on long-term economic development solutions for Southeast Raleigh.  Members look at issues dealing with vacant housing, expanding home ownership, improving the quality of goods and services, improving small business development, technology training for youth and environmental management.

The Assembly is a true partnership between the citizens and the City of Raleigh. It consists of members who are nominated by the City Council’s Budget and Economic Development Committee and appointed by the City Council. Members of the Assembly are chosen from business and social leaders in Southeast Raleigh and across the city.  They also are chosen to reflect the area’s ethnic diversity.

Mission: The Assembly’s mission is to enhance the community’s competitive advantage, to create economic prosperity, and to improve the quality of life for Southeast Raleigh and its citizens.

Vision: The Assembly envisions the day that Southeast Raleigh will be an economically sound community, offering its citizens a thriving place in which to live, work, recreate and conduct business.
