Executive Committee

Philosophy and Purpose

The Executive Committee’s purpose is to provide leadership and guidance for the Assembly and its mission and goals. The Executive Committee does the following:

• Provides leadership to direct Assembly efforts to achieve the goals in the Strategic Plan.
• Annually reviews impact and program successes of Issue Teams and evaluate progress and effectiveness.
• Develops budget proposal of Issue Teams needs and presents to the Assembly.
• Provides leadership and direction for guiding the process of annually updating environmental scans, trend data and community needs assessment.
• Helps expand the resource base by networking and cultivating partnerships and alliances.
• Markets Assembly issues in the community and with key leaders and elected officials.
• Advocates Southeast Raleigh Assembly issues with elected officials, key leaders, and citizens.

Organizational System

• Functions as the Assembly management team.
• Examines all requests of Issue Teams and develops an annual budget.
• Prepares and presents the budget to the Assembly.
• Provides oversight for budget expenditures.
• Oversees operational effectiveness of Assembly mission and goals.
• Co-Chairs of the Assembly provide leadership for the committee with support from City Staff.
• Members include the Issue Team Chairs and other appointed Assembly members. All Assembly members are welcome to attend the meetings held every other month.
