02/02/07	Gave Sir Walter Wally’s winter prediction during the annual Groundhog Day Celebration at the N.C. Museum of Natural Sciences.
02/03/07	Spoke to Rotarians at Highland Methodist Church.
02/07/07	Chaired a special meeting of the MEAC Steering Committee. The MEAC Basketball Tournament will be held March 5-10 at the RBC Center.
02/08/07	Attended the 18th Annual Awards Banquet of the City's Human Relations Commission. The group honored individuals and businesses that have made outstanding contributions to human relations in the community.
02/11/07	Announced a partnership with Cree, Inc. to analyze the cost savings potential and capabilities of using light emitting diode (LED) technology for the multiple lighting needs of the City. More information
02/12/07	Spoke at the “Men of the Church” celebration at First Presbyterian Church on Hargett Street at 6 p.m.
02/13/07	Meeting of the Budget and Economic Development Committee Proclaimed this date to be Elizabeth Spencer Day to mark the opening night of the Tony Award-winning Broadway musical adaptation of Ms. Spencer’s “Light in the Piazza” at the Progress Energy Center for the Performing Arts. Ms. Spencer, a much-honored artist born of the American South, moved to North Carolina in 1986 and taught writing at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
02/14/07	Traveled to Washington, D.C., to make an address at the Alliance to Save Energy Great Energy Efficiency Day at the Dirksen Senate Office Building on Capitol Hill. NOTE: Mayor Meeker was unable to attend the event due to bad weather.
02/17/07	Attended the Chinese New Year Festival at the State Fairgrounds in the Kerr Scott Building, sponsored by the Triangle Area Chinese American Society. The festival is designed to engage, educate, and delight the anticipated audience of 4,000 with dance and musical performances, cultural exhibits, interactive activities, and authentic Chinese foods.

02/19/07	Attended a meeting of the Wake County Mayor’s Association.
02/20/07	Spoke at the 2007 Winter Leadership Retreat at the North Carolina Department of Revenue in Raleigh.
02/24/07	Attended a celebration honoring the lives and legacy of Dr. E.B. Palmer and Mrs. Juanita B. Palmer, sponsored by the African American Cultural Complex. Mayor Meeker will serve as an Honorary Committee Member to the Board of Directors. The Palmers will be celebrated for their contributions to the community through many organizations.
