Announced centennial celebration plans for Hamlin Drug Company of Raleigh at First Baptist Church Family Life Center. Initially established as People’s Drug in 1904, Hamlin Drug Company is located at 126 E. Hargett St. and operated downtown for more than 100 years. Celebration plans include a community health fair on July 28 and conclude with a year-end gala scheduled for Nov. 10.

Will proclaim this date to be "Southeast Raleigh Indoor Track Day" to honor the high school’s boys and girls indoor track teams, which both won state titles. This was the second consecutive state championship for the girls’ team and the first ever championship for the boys’ squad.

- Will attend the opening of the Downtown Farmer’s Market at Moore Square for the opening of the Farmer’s Market season
- Will speak at the kickoff of the “I’m A Raleigh Walker” campaign at Moore Square at Noon. Mayor Meeker will also lead a brisk walk through downtown as part of a renewed focus on Raleigh’s downtown as a great destination for walking and physical fitness.

Scheduled to attend the 30th anniversary celebration of the Catholic Parish Outreach. Catholic Parish Outreach is the food pantry operated by Catholic Charities to serve Raleigh and Wake County and is one of the largest pantries in the state, serving more than 21,000 residents each year.
