  • To be honored by The Sierra Club as Raleigh has been named a "Cool City" for addressing global warming through the U.S. Mayors Climate Protection Agreement. More information on "Cool Cities".
  • Will attend Downtown Development Luncheon at Progress Energy Building

Will attend the Raleigh Hall of Fame induction ceremony at the Progress Energy Center for Performing Arts. Fourteen inductees make up this year's class, including Dr. Frederick Burroughs and N.C. State basketball coach Kay Yow, among others.  More information

Will preside over the opening ceremony of the National September 11 Memorial and Museum traveling exhibition in front of the municipal building in the 200 block of West Hargett Street and Nash Square. The exhibition that pays tribute to the victims and heroes of the Sept. 11, 2001, terrorists attacks on America. More details

Will attend the RHA's ribbon cutting for Carousel Place, a senior living area in Chavis Heights. More information about the Raleigh Housing Authority.

Will commemorate the Art-On-The-Move public art project with a bus ‘christening’ at 6 p.m. in Moore Square. The Art-On-The-Move project is sponsored by the City of Raleigh Arts Commission in partnership with Capital Area Transit. Artwork from 12 artists has been selected to be emblazoned on the sides of CAT buses traveling throughout Raleigh. More details
