  • Welcoming the World Burn Congress  to the Raleigh Convention Center.
  • Attending the grand opening of the RBC Plaza.
  • Meeting of the Blue Ribbon Committee. The committee is examining Wake County’s long-term needs for facilities such as schools, libraries and jails, and for transportation, water, sewer and other infrastructure, and will propose future funding strategies.

The City of Raleigh NeighborWoods Street Tree Program will hold a Tree Planting Ceremony in Boylan Heights, DuPont Circle. Mayor Meeker will help plant the tree and say a few words in recognition of the outstanding value of the NeighborWoods program. NeighborWoods participants will receive complimentary mulch and tree planting education in appreciation for coming together and planting trees through a community effort.
