  • Attending the rollout/open house event of the Comprehensive Plan update at the Raleigh Convention Center. Attendees will have an opportunity to meet and talk with members of the City Council, Planning Commission, City Planning staff, and other City boards and commissions. More information

  • Making a proclamation for Influenza Immunization Awareness Day at WakeCounty Sunnybrook Public Health Center. This press event featuring local and state partners will be held to announce the proclamation to raise awareness of the importance of receiving an annual influenza vaccine.

Mayor Charles Meeker will throw the switch on 40,000 lights at 5:15 p.m., Wednesday, Dec. 10, officially bringing the holiday season to Downtown Raleigh. 

Ron Day, chair of the Downtown Raleigh Alliance (DRA) will join Mayor Meeker in front of the RBC Tower at 301 Fayetteville St. This is the third annual holiday lighting event for Fayetteville Street that comes complete with Victorian Carolers and free horse-drawn carriage rides. More information
