  • Welcoming the International Association of Audio Information Services at the Sheraton Downtown. The goal of the conference, hosted by Triangle Radio Reading Service, is to teach and discuss new ways to better the services that IAAIS provides to thousands of people. More information on TRRS
  • Meeting with a delegation from Denmark
  • Helping honor the 2008 Fred Fletcher Award winners at the Fletcher Theater. The Fred Fletcher Awards honor outstanding volunteers in the area.

  • Taking part in "Kids City Planning Day" event at Marbles Kids Museum. In an effort to educate kids on the role each person can play in how communities grow, the City of Raleigh Planning Department has partnered with Marbles Kids Museum to host the event. More information
  • Attending a memorial service for fallen firefighters. A parade to commemorate fallen firefighters will be held on May 3 beginning at 10 a.m. More information
