City Of Raleigh Arts Commission Grants And Funding

Fiscal Year 2009-2010 Grant Information

The City of Raleigh Grant Program application period has closed for fiscal year 2009 - 2010.

The City of Raleigh Arts Grant Program is the official vehicle for municipal support to the city's arts organizations and arts programs presented in Raleigh. The Arts Grant Program is a major example of the Raleigh City Council's dedication to the cultural development of Raleigh.  The Commission receives an annual appropriation of $4.50 per capita in arts funding.

The Commission’s Arts Grants Program has been in operation for 22 years, distributing over $17 million dollars to qualifying organizations. For 2008-2009, 39 applications received grants totaling $1,407,580. Arts Grants are available in three categories of support: Operating Support, Project Support, and Management Assistance.

Subject to eligibility requirements, any nonprofit, tax-exempt organization whose corporate headquarters are located within the limits of the City of Raleigh may apply for an Arts Grant. All decisions will be based on established criteria and available funding.

All interested applicants must download BOTH the Grant Application document and Grant Guidelines documents  posted on this webpage.

Please note that the 2009-10 Budget forms (included in the grant application document) can also be found here as an excel spreadsheet with built-in calculations.

The Raleigh Arts Commission will be hosting a free Arts Grant workshop for interested non-profit organizations in Raleigh. The workshop will be held Nov. 18 at 9:00 a.m., at the city’s Urban Design Center, 133 Fayetteville Street.  ALL GROUPS INTENDING TO APPLY FOR AN ARTS GRANT MUST ATTEND THIS WORKSHOP

For additional information, please contact Carol Mallette, Arts Commission Administrative Assistant, at carol.mallette@ci.raleigh.nc.us or call (919) 996-3610.
