Adventure Program Frequently Asked Questions
Frequently Asked Questions
Here are answers to some of the most commonly asked questions people have when considering an Adventure Program for the first time. If you are unable to find the answer to a specific question, please contact the Adventure Staff at (919) 831-6855.
How and where can I register?
You can register at RecLink our online registration system, by mail, fax, in person, or at any staffed facility. There are additional registration forms that need to be filled out, and you can access those in the menu box. After completing the registration packet, it is only a matter of turning it in and making payment to reserve a spot in a course.
What if I need to cancel?
The refund policy is as follows:
- A 100% refund, credit, or transfer will be given if the department cancels program or facility rental.
- All refund requests received in writing at least 14 or more days in advance of the start date of a program are entitled to either a 100% transfer of fees, or an 85% refund or credit based on the total cost of the program.
- Refund, credit, or transfer requests received less than 14 days prior to the start date of a program will not be granted.
- Refunds for medical reasons requested prior to the start date of the program will be granted at 100% subject to verification.
- Outdoor facility usage cancelled due to inclement weather may be rescheduled pending space availability.
- A transfer must be requested at the time of withdrawal.
- A credit may be applied to another program within the current season or a future season. A credit may be used by any family member on the same registration.
How strenuous are your programs?
The programs we offer can be both mentally and physically challenging. It is recommended that participants have an average or above average fitness level. It is also recommended that participants be ready to challenge themselves by committing to trying new and unfamiliar things under the supervision and coaching of our capable staff. The information on the registration and health statement can help to determine your health level. Feel free to contact us with specific questions about health issues, or to help determine if a program would be appropriate for you.
What if bad weather conditions occur during my trip?
The Adventure Program reserves the right to cancel or re-schedule a program prior to its commencement if severe weather conditions are predicted. In this case all participants will be contacted by the Adventure Program to discuss options. If it is just raining, the trip will usually take place as planned. In the event of lightning or other severe weather conditions while on a trip, participants will be led in the most appropriate way, dependant on the situation, by the Adventure Staff, who are specifically trained for such situations. In planning, participants, should pack as if it will rain on every trip.
Do you offer group discounts?
The Adventure Program is not able to give any group discounts, but is consistently focused on providing programs at a reasonable cost to both the individual and the group. Any existing program can be customized to meet a groups scheduling needs. Please contact us to schedule a custom program.
Where do your trips take place?
Our trips take place all over the state of North Carolina and in some cases other states as well. Generally our trips meet and depart from the Adventure offices at Jaycee Park, unless otherwise specified.
