Lap Swimming and Aquatic Fitness Programs


Adult Lap Swim/ Aquatic Exercise
Adult lap swim is open to individuals ages 16 yrs and up.  During times of peak use, lap lanes will be limited and swimmers are asked to share lanes and circle swim.
Limited lap lanes are generally:
Mon-Fri 5:30am-7:30am and 3:00-8:00pm
Saturday 8:00am-12:00pm 

 

Water Exercise Program
Water Exercise passes can be purchased at the front desk at Pullen Aquatic Center or by mail. No pre-registration is required. This pass allows you to attend any 8 water exercise classes within this calendar year. Water Exercise pass prices are as follows: $40 resident adult; $33 resident senior; $50 non-resident adult; $43 non-resident senior.

 

Aquacise
This class focuses on flexibility, body conditioning, strength building, and cardiovascular endurance by targeting individual muscle groups. No swimming ability is necessary.

Water Walking
This low impact class focuses on flexibility, conditioning, and cardiovascular
endurance. Emphasis is placed on working large muscle groups. Classes are
designed for individuals of all fitness levels to work towards a higher level of personal fitness.

Making Waves & Shallow Water Exercise
Water aerobics classes in shallow water are designed to assist individuals in gaining
muscular strength, coordination, flexibility and cardiovascular endurance. Classes
are designed for individuals of all fitness levels to work towards a higher level of
personal fitness. A variety of equipment may be used to enhance the workout. No
swimming ability is necessary, but being comfortable in the water is encouraged.

Deep Water Exercise *
This deep water aerobic fitness class is designed to offer a total body workout for
strength and cardiovascular fitness with minimal impact on the lower body joints.

Let's Get Physical *
Deep water wellness workout. A great class for Aerobic training , and body toning since water offers 12 times the resistance of air! This class is designed to provide cardiovascular , resistance & flexibility training all in one. While utilizing both upper and lower muscle groups to challenge you at various intensity levels, deep water workouts also strengthen core muscles of the chest, abdomen, & back. Intensity modifications will be demonstrated throughout the class. Introduction to buoyant and resistive equipment provided. Class designed for all ages and levels of fitness including pre and post-natal women, persons with arthritis, fibromyalgia, multiple sclerosis or injury.

Arthritis Water Exercise Class
For people with arthritis, fibromyalgia or other conditions that would benefit from a
range of motion exercise class in warm water.

Shape & Tone *
A deep water work for the beginner.  This class focuses on core stabilization and shaping and toning the entire body as well as teaching you how to effectively workout in deep water.

Dynamic Deep *
An intermediate to advance deep water class that focuses on utilizing core stabilization through a series of continuous movements at various intensity levels.

Aquafit
This fitness class uses intervals,  circuits, and cardiovascular routines to create dynamic workouts that can all be used in the shallow water.  A perfect class for all  exercisers from beginners to advanced.

Aqua EXTREME! *
This advanced class offers a high intensity workout utilizing advance moves and a variety of equipment.  Class maybe in deep or shallow.

*  Although flotation equipment is used in class to help provide support during the exercises, participants should be comfortable in deep water.
