Tickets For Kids Program

A Program That Rewards Kids For All The Right Reasons!

Tickets for Kids is a united effort of Ticketmaster, the City of Raleigh and the Raleigh Mayor's office to channel family entertainment tickets as rewards and incentives to deserving Raleigh youth who have proven their willingness to contribute to their community. Launched in 1994, this program gives many children the opportunity to experience the magic and joy of entertainment events they might not otherwise experience.

As of July 2005, the Mayor's Tickets for Kids Program in Raleigh has distributed approximately 3,500 tickets to more than 90 events. Nationally, more than 425,000 children have received tickets through the program.

Ticketmaster secures tickets as contributions from its clients – promoters and venues. Tickets are presented to the City’s Public Affairs Department, which acts as a clearinghouse for recipient groups.

Group guidelines

  • Applicants will be accepted from organized groups operating in the City of Raleigh. Groups may include youth programs, school or church groups, academic organizations or athletic teams.
  • Applicant groups must commit to provide an adult leader for the group, should they be selected to receive tickets. It is recommended that there be one chaperone for every 10 kids.
  • The youth organizations are responsible for transportation, chaperones and curfews of their youth.
  • Organizations must sign a waiver of liability that holds harmless the City of Raleigh, Ticketmaster and its clients/venues with regard to accidents or other actions that may occur in conjunction with participating in or traveling to ticketed events. Waiver forms must be on file prior to receiving tickets and at least two days prior to the event.
  • Each youth organization is responsible for obtaining signed parental consent forms.
  • Each organization is responsible for determining that the content of the event is suitable for the participating kids.
  • Failure to use tickets will result in loss of eligibility for future events.
  • No tickets may be sold or given to other groups.
