Social Clubs

Specialized Recreation Services offers three social clubs for individuals with developmental disabilities. The purpose of these clubs is to encourage the development of appropriate leisure/social skills and to perpetuate friendships. All activities are voted on by the members and provide an opportunity for the individual to participate in age appropriate social activities.  Past activities have included Hurricanes' games, college sporting events, dinner & a movie, Murder Mystery Dinner Theatre, plays, shopping excursions, Myrtle Beach trips, Disney World, and Cruise to the Caribbean.  Don't miss out on the most exciting activities of the year!

  • Youth Club: Middle School and High School Students

Youth club members will work on money handling skills and appropriate community behavior in age appropriate settings.  For more information on the Youth Club, please contact Jennifer Tabery.

  • Wildcats Club: Ages 17-27 AND who have completed high school

Wildcats members will work on money management; community skills, such as purchasing admission tickets; and some activity planning.  For more information on the Wildcats Club, please contact Stephanie Stancil.

  • Dragons Club: Ages 28 and up

Dragons members will continue to develop appropriate social and community skills.  For more information on the Dragons Club, contact Meredith Jackson.

Individuals may participate in ONLY ONE CLUB. We understand that the age ranges may separate individuals from the peers that they are comfortable with. Age adjustments will be made on a case by case basis. Please contact one of us to discuss this matter if it concerns you.
