CAMP FRIENDLY


Camp Friendly Camp Friendly is a traditional day camp that offers a variety of recreational and leisure experiences for children age 4 to age 16 who have a developmental and/or physical disability. This camp takes place at Durant Nature Park.  Outdoor activities include lake swimming, sports, nature, adventure, arts and crafts, canoeing, fishing and hiking. There will also be theme sessions and special event days. Campers will go on weekly field trips. A variety of sessions are offered to meet the needs of campers. All sessions enjoy the same fun activities.

Sessions:

  • Day Session: Camp Friendly Day Session is for children ages 6-12 who can work successfully on a 1 staff to 3 camper ratio.
  • Teen Session: Camp Friendly Teen Session is for teens ages 13-16 who can work successfully on a 1 staff to 3 camper ratio.
  • Mini Session: Camp Friendly Mini Session is for children ages 6-16 who need 1:1 assistance due to general functioning level or behavioral issues
  • Physically Impaired: Camp Friendly PI session is for children ages 6-16 who have mobility impairments.
  • Little Tikes: Camp Friendly Little Tikes is for children ages 4 & 5 who have developmental disabilities. Camp Hours: Camp is run from 8:30 am- 4:30 pm.
  • Camp Friendly Sibling Week is for children ages 6-12 who have a sibling with a devlopmental disability.  Campers are encouraged to attnd with their sibling!

  • Early Drop Off and Late Pick Up are offered for an additional $10 each, extending the hours by 30 minutes in the morning and afternoon. Transportation:

  • Transportation is offered from Method Community Center  to Durant Nature Park for a fee of $20. The bus leaves Method at 8:30 am and will return at 4:30 pm.
