Recreation Division Volunteer Opportunities
The Recreation Division offers various classes and programs that utilize volunteers’ skills and experiences.

The following activities are available:

Sports & Tournaments - Youth athletic coaches are needed for baseball, basketball, football, lacrosse, in-line hockey, softball, cheerleading & more. If you are interested in coaching or volunteering, please complete the Coaches Application and CCBI/Background Check

Special Events - Assist with registration, set-up, and activities at various citywide events such as July 4th celebration, festivals, concerts and more.

Programs & Classes - Assist with instruction of programs, registration and activities in Art, Adventure, Aquatics, Fitness, Nature, Sports and more.

Specialized Recreation Services - Assist individuals with developmental and/or physical disabilities in diverse events and activities including Wake County Special Olympics.

ESL (English as Second Language) Program - Assist with instruction and interpretation.

Outdoor Education - Assist with various community projects at one of the four City lakes and two nature parks, from trail maintenance and signage to butterfly gardening etc.
