Green Road Gymnasium Addition

Background:
Green Road Park is a 27 acre community park located in Northeast Raleigh. The community center has a gymnasium that is currently programmed to capacity. As approved in the 2003 Bond Program, a gymnasium addition is proposed at the Green Road Community Center. Jill B. Smith, Architect was hired to provide the design services for this project. The new addition will include a new gym, lobby, storage, restrooms and a covered handicap accessible walkway connecting the addition and the existing building main entrance.
Status:
The construction contract has been awarded to Riggs-Harrod Builders, Inc. Construction is currently underway and is expected to complete early fall 2009. The existing community center and gymnasium will remain open during construction of the addition.
