Strickland Road Park Master Plan

Background
Strickland Road is a 37 acre neighborhood park located on Strickland Road between Ray Road and Leesville Road in Northwest Raleigh. The Strickland Road Master Plan was adopted by Raleigh City Council on March 17, 2009. Included in the master plan are walking trails, a neighborhood center, open space field, playground, basketball half-courts and picnic areas. An off-leash dog area , a desired park element in Northwest Raleigh, was removed from the Strickland Road Master Plan and will now be included as part of Leesville Community Park.
Funding for this project comes from the 2000 Park Bond approved by voters.
Project Description
Phase 1 construction design of the park will proceed through 2009 and construction should begin by spring 2010. Park elements to be included in Phase 1 are a portion of the playground, picnic areas, and natural surface trails.
