City To Close Fayetteville Street for Raleigh Wide Open 2


Fayetteville Street in downtown Raleigh will be closed to vehicular traffic for Raleigh Wide Open 2 (RWO2), the July 21 four-block party celebrating the renaissance of the Capital City’s center.

The 100 to 400 blocks of Fayetteville Street will be closed from 6 p.m. Friday, July 20 until 4 a.m. Sunday, July 22. Also to be closed to accommodate RWO2 are sections of Martin, Hargett and Davie streets that cross Fayetteville Street. The 00 blocks of Hargett and Martin streets will be closed to traffic from 6 p.m. July 20 until 4 a.m. July 22. The 00 block of Davie Street will be closed from 7 a.m. July 21 until 4 a.m. July 22.

Additionally beginning at 6 p.m. on July 20, parking spaces will be encumbered on the west side of the 200 to 300 blocks of South Wilmington Street and on the east side of the 200 to 300 block of Salisbury Street. The parking spaces will be opened back up for public use on July 22 at 4 a.m.
