Public Meeting To Discuss Rock Quarry Road Widening

The City of Raleigh Public Works Department will hold a public meeting on Thursday, Aug. 21 to discuss the proposed widening of Rock Quarry Road. The meeting will be held at the North Carolina Department of Transportation’s office at 3301 Jones Sausage Road.

The proposed work would widen Rock Quarry Road to five lanes with curb and gutter and sidewalks on both sides from Sunnybrook Road to approximately 300 feet west of Friendly Trail. The City’s design consultant, Wilbur Smith and Associates, has completed the initial studies and preliminary design mapping.

City staff will be on hand from 7 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. to review and discuss the mapping and answer any questions about the work. At 7:30 p.m., a short presentation will be made and afterwards, citizens may ask any questions or make any comments.

For more information, call Project Engineer Sammy Wood at 890-3431.
