Teen Speciality Camps Still Available!
Raleigh Parks and Recreation Teen Programs still has openings for many camps this summer. The one-week specialty camps are a great way to learn something new, make new friends and develop leadership skills. Open sessions are as follows:
Teen Modern Art "Movement"
From splatter painting to leg swings, students will draw, curl down and up, paint, chasse and use various mediums and techniques while learning the history and style of modern art. Learn about art from Abstract, Modernism, to Da-da, and Realism! Using a variety of media, participants will create original works of art using visual elements found in modern art and learn dance routines - both of which will be showcased on the last day in an exciting arts exhibit and movement performance. Popular modern music that is appropriate for this age group will enhance studio time! Physical activities will be emphasized for the movement component, but none too strenuous. Modifications can be made to accommodate youth with disabilities. No previous arts or dance experience is necessary.
