The City of Raleigh Fire Department is seeking interested companies to become
certified to test fire hydrants for 2009. Hydrant tests are required on all new buildings, additions, alterations and upgrades that require additional supply or verification of the system. A copy of the water flow test result must be submitted with the building plans when applying for a building permit and with the sprinkler/standpipe plans when applying for a stand alone sprinkler/standpipe permit. Water flow tests must be performed and sealed by a North Carolina Registered Professional Engineer who is
certified by the City of Raleigh Fire Department.
