Annual Human Relations Banquet Set For Feb. 5


The 20th annual City of Raleigh Human Relations Banquet and Awards Celebration will be held Thursday, Feb. 5 from 6 to 8:30 p.m. at the Raleigh Convention Center.  Community and business leaders will honor those citizens who have worked to promote harmony throughout the city.

The event is sponsored by the City’s Human Relations Commission. Organizations can sponsor the event at platinum ($1,000), gold ($500) and silver ($250) levels. Tickets cost $35. The City of Raleigh Human Relations Commission, a 14-member body composed of citizens appointed by the Raleigh City Council, serves as an advisor to the Council with respect to human services and human rights. The commission is dedicated to promoting human dignity, equal opportunity, tolerance and harmony among all citizens of Raleigh. The Human Relations Commission typically meets on the second Thursday of each month at 6 p.m. at the Avery C. Upchurch Government Complex, located at 222 W. Hargett St.
