Council Approves Flood Map Amendment

The Raleigh City Council voted unanimously at its Nov. 4 meeting to approve an amendment to the Federal Emergency Management Agency’s flood map for the Capital City.

The amendment was sought by the City’s Stormwater Management Division because of proposed dam and lake improvements to Northshore Lake and Brentwood Today Lake that would result in a minimum decrease in flood levels. The City is planning the improvements as part of its Capital Improvement Program.
