Raleigh City Council has approved the Development Services Advisory Committee (DSAC)

The Raleigh City Council recently approved a proposal to form the Development Services Advisory Committee (DSAC).  This committee will interact with city staff to develop ideas for process improvements. The mission of the Development Services Advisory Committee is to review administrative policies and procedures and seek new ways to do business in a predictable, transparent, cost-effective and efficient manner that is responsive to every client's needs.

The Development Services Advisory Committee will establish an executive leadership group that will create the vision and outline broad strategies for going forward. They will also be responsible for reporting to the City Council.  Technical groups will also be formed as a result of the annual work plan.  These smaller groups will meet as often as required to work through detailed processing issues and provide feedback in their particular regulatory area.  Each group will choose a leader and an alternate leader, who will be the spokesperson for the group when reporting to the executive group. The leader will be responsible for communicating to the broader group of stakeholders ensuring good feedback and good attendance at each meeting.

The City of Raleigh invites you to attend the kick off meeting of the Development Services Advisory Committee in early October 2008.  Additional information about this session will be forth coming in the next few weeks.

Thank you in advance for your support and participation. Together we can make development services in Raleigh a model for all cities.
