Aquatic Races On May 31

Aquatic Races, Saturday, May 31, 1-3 p.m.

Water Striders, Whirligig Beetles, Dragonfly Nymphs and other aquatic insects have some very unique ways of "racing" through the water. We'll look for these insects with dipnets and learn how they are able to move so quickly in the water. Then we'll build and decorate our own boats to race along the creek. Will we be faster than a Water Strider?  Join the fun to find out!  This event is for children ages 6-12 years old, a snack is included and the fee is only $10.  Please meet at the Training Lodge located at the North entrance to the park off of Durant Rd.  For more information, please contact Amy Corbally at Durant Nature Park, (919) 870-2871.
