Learn A New Language With Raleigh Parks and Recreation


German for Beginners
This course will offer an easy and gradual way to learn the basic concepts of the German language. Students will be able to learn and use basic German expressions and phrases, such as introducing yourself, telling time, and having short conversations.  This class is for ages 12 years and up and cost $45.  Classes are held every Wednesday from 6:30 - 8:00 p.m. at the Pullen Community Center.  Classes begin September 3 and end October 8. 

French for Beginners
Want to learn French?  Raleigh Parks and Recreation offers a course that is designed for those who are complete beginners and wish to study for a short period of time and learn enough practical language to be able to communicate in simple situations when going abroad. The students that complete this course will also be able to acquire basic concepts to communicate with French speakers.  This class is for 18 years and up and class cost is $45.  Classes are offered at Jaycee Community Center on Saturday from September 6 through October 11 from 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.

Spanish Introduction
This course is an introduction to basic conversational Spanish with an emphasis on listening and speaking.  Participants 18 years and older will learn topics such as time, days, months, colors, dialogues, and present tense of verbs are covered.  Class fee is $50 and held at Millbrook Exchange Community Center on Wednesdays September 3 through October 8 from 6:30 - 8:00 p.m. and Method Road Community Center on Tuesdays September 2 through October 7 from 6:30 - 8:00 p.m.
