System Integration Plans For Park Sites Kick Off

The Parks and Recreation Department has completed draft System Integration Plans (SIPs) for two future park sites. The objective of a System Integration Plan is to document existing site conditions and constraints, and develop a set of guidelines for the interim management of parkland prior to the initiation of a Master Plan. SIPs are a sub-section of the overall City Park Master Planning process.

The two future park sites for which SIPs have been completed are the Kyle Drive property at 4700 Kyle Drive and the Forestville Road property at 4913 Forestville Road.  Raleigh Parks and Recreation will offer a presentation on these sites at the February 11, 2010 NE CAC meeting held at the Millbrook-Exchange Community Center (1905 Spring Forest Road) at 7:30 p.m.  There will be a public hearing on the SIPs at the March 18, 2010 Parks, Recreation and Greenway Advisory Board at the Jaycee Park Module (2405 Wade Avenue) at 5:30 p.m.  The public is encouraged to attend the meetings.  There will be time for Q&A at the CAC meeting and opportunity for public input at the PRGAB meeting.

Comments may also be provided by email to ParkPlan@ci.raleigh.nc.us.  The draft SIPs are available for public review at the Green Road (4201 Green Road) and Jaycee (2405 Wade Avenue) Community Centers and online on the SIP webpage.  Vicinity and property maps of the future park sites are available on the SIP webpage.
