Council OKs Increase To Marsh Creek Design Services Contract

On Tuesday, the Raleigh City Council agreed to an increase to the design services contract with Davis-Kane Architects PA for the Marsh Creek Community Center. Work began on the designs for the new center in 2007. While the designs were being completed, additional work was necessary including surveying for tree conservation. The increase will also include the design of a new playground.

The contract will increase by more than $47,000. The City has received a $20,000 grant from North Carolina’s Eat Smart, Move More Community Grants Program to assist with the playground.

Once completed, the community center will include a gymnasium, offices, lobby, fitness room, multi-purpose classrooms, kitchen area, restrooms, and locker rooms. It also will accommodate the proposed future expansion for an aquatics facility.
