Special Olympics Wake County Athletes, Coaches To Attend Nationals
The City of Raleigh Parks and Recreation Specialized Recreation Services Department is a proud sponsor of Special Olympics Wake County.
Special Olympics is a world-wide non-profit organization which provides year-round sports training and competition for individuals with intellectual disabilities. Special Olympics Wake County offers training and competition in up to 18 sports each year at no costs for eligible participants. Special Olympics operates on donations, sponsorships and grants at international, national, state and local levels.
Specialized Recreation Services and Special Olympics Wake County are excited to announce that 19 local athletes and seven coach/chaperones have been selected to attend the 2009 National Invitationals for Golf and Team Softball July 31-Aug 3 in Lincoln, Nebraska. This is a great opportunity for our athletes to shine on a national stage and be great ambassadors for North Carolina and the City of Raleigh.
