Raleigh Wide Open 3 To Celebrate Convention Center's Opening

Raleigh Wide Open 3 (RWO3) will be the grand opening celebration for the Raleigh Convention Center.

The 36-hour downtown blast will begin Sept. 5 with a noon ribbon cutting. Then the fun really begins at 5 p.m. with RWO3 flooding Fayetteville Street. The brand-new convention center will be the site of the International Flavor Festival and preview of future center shows. Saturday, Sept. 6 is a 12-hour blast running from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m.

The convention center will include more than 500,000 square feet configured into 19 individual meeting rooms, a 150,000-square-foot exhibit hall and a 32,000-square-foot ballroom. An attached four-start Marriott hotel will offer 15,000 square feet of additional meeting space. To take a virtual tour, visit www.raleighconvention.com/tour.
