Mayor Meeker Promotes Awareness Of Weatherization Program


 

It’s that time of year; Raleigh residents are turning up their thermostats to cozy-up their quarters.  Mayor Charles Meeker has joined with Resources for Seniors to promote a federally funded program that looks to assure that no one is left out in the cold.

Christmas Parade Set For Nov. 21
Don’t miss the excitement of the 2009 Raleigh Christmas Parade, the largest parade between Atlanta and Washington, D.C. About 60,000 people will line the streets in downtown Raleigh on Sat., Nov. 21. The parade starts at 9:30 a.m. For the 40th year, WRAL will air the parade, starting at 10 a.m.
Loose Leaf Collection Now Under Way
The Loose Leaf Curbside Collection Program for the 2009-10 leaf season is now under way. Collections will be made in each area of the city once by Christmas and a second time after January 4, 2010. Contact the Leaf Line at 996-3720 for updates. Click "More" for details.
