City Breaks Ground On Transit Operations Center


 

The City of Raleigh, joined by state and federal officials, has broken ground to formally begin construction of a state-of-the-art transit operations center. The transit operations center will be located on 23 acres at 4104 Poole Road. Construction is scheduled to be complete in the spring 2011.

Curbside Grease Collection Pilot Program Begins
The City is now providing curbside collection of cooking oil and grease in a pilot program designed to help prevent sewer overflows. Residents can now dispose of these products by leaving them at the curb along with their garbage, recycling and yard waste. The effort will continue until January 15.
Raleigh Rewards Responsible Recycling With "Recycle And Win"
Starting Nov. 3, you will have a chance to be rewarded – just for doing the right thing. The City of Raleigh has announced the "Recycle And Win" partnership, a public/private initiative designed to educate citizens on the right way to recycle and to encourage them to do so.
