Purpose

The Bicycle and Pedestrian Advisory Commission is an all-volunteer advisory body, appointed by the City Council to provide guidance and leadership on all matters concerning bicycle and pedestrian activities and accommodation in Raleigh. BPAC members are responsible for making recommendations on the implementation of relevant programs, policies, regulations, and funding priorities regarding walking and cycling in the City of Raleigh.

Bicycle Planning Committee

  • Next Meeting: TBD
  • Members: Harry Johnson - Chair, Alan Wiggs

Established to promote bicycle oriented development. The committee will be playing an active role in the development of the City's new Development Code to ensure that multi-modal transportation elements are addressed.

Community Outreach Committee

  • Next Meeting: TBD
  • Meeting Schedule: The second Thursday of every month unless otherwise specified
  • Members: Paul Nevill - Chair, Evan Brigham, Linda Butler, Mike Dayton

Established to promote public outreach for bicycle and pedestrian oriented involvement for recreational and educational opportunities.

Pedestrian Planning Committee

  • Next Meeting: March 5
  • Meeting Schedule: The first Thursday of every month unless otherwise specified
  • Meeting Location: 1 Exchange Plaza - Conference Room 701
  • Members: Aaron Peeler - Chair, Harry Johnson, Amy Simes

Established to promote pedestrian oriented development, including in mixed-use infill and retail opportunities. The committee will be playing an active role in the development of the City's new Development Code to ensure that multi-modal transportation elements are addressed.

Joint Bicycle & Pedestrian Planning Committee

  • Members: Harry Johnson, Aaron Peeler, Amy Simes, Alan Wiggs

The Joint Bicycle & Pedestrian Planning Committee will meet on a monthly basis as need depending on agenda items that coincide.
