Roundabout Safety Tips

The City of Raleigh is offering tips to assist motorists in negotiating safely the Hillsborough Street/Pullen Road roundabout. These tips highlight the benefits of roundabouts, including enhanced driver safety, the economic savings, beautification, and improved traffic capacity. Also included are driver safety tips and diagrams explaining the general rules for navigating the roundabout.

Drivers are reminded to:

• Slow down as you approach the roundabout;
• Pick a lane before entering the roundabout;
• Yield to traffic in the roundabout;
• Stay in your lane; and,
• Remember to use your turn signal as you exit the roundabout.
