City to Observe Thanksgiving Nov. 23-24

The City of Raleigh will observe the Thanksgiving holiday on Thursday, Nov. 23, and Friday, Nov. 24. Most administrative offices will be closed both days. Emergency police, fire and rescue services may be reached by calling 9-1-1.

The City’s Solid Waste Services Department will work a normal schedule on Nov. 24 for regularly scheduled collection of garbage, recycling and yard waste. However trash, recycling and yard waste scheduled for collection on Thanksgiving Day, Nov. 23, will instead be picked up on Saturday, Nov. 25. Downtown business routes will run as normal during the week.

The Yard Waste Center will be closed on Thanksgiving Day but will operate on a regular schedule the remainder of the week.

There will be no GoRaleigh or GoTriangle bus service on Thanksgiving Day. Regular GoRaleigh service will resume on Nov. 24. GoTriangle will operate on a Saturday schedule on Nov. 24. For more information on GoRaleigh or GoTriangle service, call 919-485-7433.
