City to Observe Martin Luther King Jr. Holiday on Jan. 16

Trash Collection Schedule Not Affected

[Alert]News posted Jan. 12, 2017 - 9:00 am

The City of Raleigh’s administrative offices will be closed on Monday, Jan. 16, in observance of the Martin Luther King Jr. holiday. Emergency police, fire and rescue services may be reached by calling 9-1-1.

Because no residential collections are scheduled on Mondays, the regular schedule for garbage, recycling and yard waste will not be affected by the holiday. The City’s Yard Waste Center will be closed on Martin Luther King Jr. Day, but will operate on a regular schedule the remainder of the week.

GoRaleigh and GoTriangle buses will operate on a Saturday schedule on Martin Luther King Jr. Day. Express buses operated by GoRaleigh are not running on the holiday. Regular bus service for GoRaleigh and GoTriangle resumes Jan. 17. For more information on bus schedules, contact 919-485-7433.
