Zipcar

Zipcar is car sharing, an alternative to owning a car, that gives members 24/7 access to vehicles parked around town in convenient locations. Low hourly and daily rates include gas, insurance, and 180 miles per day to go wherever you want to go. Members can reserve cars online or with a smart phone for as little as an hour or up to four days. Enjoy all the freedom of owning car without any of the hassle.

The City of Raleigh's Zipcar program plays a vital role in encouraging commuters to take an alternate commute to work. The City of Raleigh, NC State University and Meredith College are working together to implement a program in downtown Raleigh and at surrounding colleges and universities to provide a cost effective and convenient transportation option to students, faculty and staff, as well as community members ages 21 and up.

The program launched with two Zipcars on Glenwood Avenue @ Lane Street.
