CAT Bus Route Changes Effective Jan. 13

Capital Area Transit (CAT) will be making adjustments to many of the bus routes on January 13, 2013. The upcoming changes have been designed to build a solid foundation for future growth. Many of CAT’s main routes serving downtown will see additional evening service. The Route 1/Capital Boulevard will also see reduced headways, down to 15 minutes during peak periods.

Please take time to review the changes, especially for trips planned in the evening or early in the morning. CAT will be posting the new bus route schedules immediately following the New Year.

General route changes are as follows:

Unless otherwise noted, routes run every 30 minutes during peak travel times (6AM-9AM and 4PM-6:30PM) and hourly the balance of the day. Saturday and Sunday service is hourly unless noted otherwise.

*Route has Sunday Service between the hours of 8 AM and 8 PM.

Routes

• 1 Capital* - First trip begins at 4:30 AM. Last departure at 11:15 PM. This route has service every 15 minutes in the peak periods and 30 minute service mid-day Saturday. 5:45 AM till 11:15 PM Mid-Day this route has 30 minute service.
• 2 Falls of Neuse* - First trip begins at 5 AM. Last departure at 10 PM.
  Saturday 5:30 AM till 10 PM. After 7 PM on Saturday and all day Sunday, route turns around at Carlos Drive.
• 3 Glascock - First trip begins at 6:30 AM. Last departure at 9 PM.
  Saturday 7 AM till 8 PM Route operates counterclockwise. Bus will turn from Glascock onto Raleigh Blvd.
• 4 Rex Hospital* - First trip begins at 4:30 AM. Last departure at 11 PM.
  Saturday 5 AM till 11 PM. Trips after 7 PM turn around at Rex Hospital Sunday's route turns around at Crabtree Valley Mall.
• 5 Biltmore Hills* - First trip begins at 5:30 AM. Last departure at 11:30 PM.
  Saturday 6:10 AM till 11:30 PM
• 6 Crabtree - First trip begins at 5:55 AM. Last departure at 8:15 PM.
  Saturday 7 AM till 9 PM Last trip ends at Crabtree Valley Mall.
• 7 S. Saunders* - First trip begins at 5:45 AM. Last departure at 11 PM.
  Saturday 6 AM till 11 PM
• 8 Northclift - First trip begins at 6 AM. Last departure at 8 PM. Last trip ends at N Hills Mall. Saturday 7 AM till 7 PM
• 10 Longview - First trip begins at 5:30 AM. Last departure at 9 PM.
  Saturday 7 AM till 9 PM
• 11 Avent Ferry* - First trip begins at 5:45 AM. Last departure at 11 PM.
  Saturday 5:45 AM till 11 PM
• 12 Method* - First trip begins at 5:45 AM. Last departure at 10 PM.
  Saturday 6:45 AM till 10 PM
• 13 Chavis Heights - First trip begins at 6 AM. Last departure at 6:30 PM. Trips depart every 30 minutes all day.
• 15 Wake Med* - First trip begins at 5:15 AM. Last departure at 11 PM. This route has service every 15 minutes in the peak periods and 30 minute service mid-day.
  Saturday 5:30 AM - 11 PM.
• 16 Oberlin - First trip begins at 6:15 AM. Last departure at 10 PM. Does not serve Rex Hospital after 7 PM.
• 18 Worthdale* - First trip begins at 6 AM. Last departure at 11 PM.
  Saturday 6 AM - 11 PM Evenings and Saturday-Sunday covers portions of 19 route.

• 21 Caraleigh - First trip begins at 5:30 AM. Last departure at 9:30 PM.
  Saturday 6:30 AM - 9:30 PM
• 22 State St - First trip begins at 5:30 AM. Last departure at 10 PM. Trips depart every 30 minutes until 7 PM.
• 31 New Hope Commons* - First trip starts at 8 AM. Last departure at 7 PM. Sunday only route.

• 7L Carolina Pines/Rush - First trip begins at 5:45 AM. Last departure at 10 PM.
  Saturday 6:45 AM -9 PM.
• 8L Sawmill - First trip begins at 7:22 AM. Last departure at 7:22 PM.
  Saturday 7:08 AM -5:22 PM Service runs hourly.
• 11L Buck Jones - First trip begins at 5:58 AM Last departure at 10:12 PM.
  Saturday 6:33 AM - 10:12 PM. Last trip ends at Schaub/Sandlin. Service runs hourly
• 15L Trawick - First trip begins at 5:45 AM. Last departure at 10:20 PM.
  Saturday 5:50 AM -10:20 PM. Last trip goes out of service at New Hope Commons and does not return to Wake Med.
• 23L Millbrook - First trip begins at 6:07 AM. Last departure at 6:45 PM.
  Saturday 6:22 AM - 6:00 PM
• 24L North Crosstown - First trip begins at 6:03 AM. Last departure at 6:23 PM.
  Saturday 6:57 AM - 6:45 PM.
• 25L Triangle Town Center - First trip begins at 5:20 AM. Last departure at 7:20 PM.
  Saturday 6:20 AM - 7:20 PM. Service runs hourly.
• Wake Forest Loop - First trip starts at 6 AM. Last departure at 7:30 PM.

• 40X Wake Tech - First trip starts at 6:30 AM. Last departure at 5:30 PM. M-F service only. No service and/or Modified service when school is closed.
• 55X Poole Rd Express* - First trip starts at 5:55 AM. Last departure at 11:38 PM.
  Saturday 5:45 AM - 10:59 PM Trips vary throughout the day, please see schedule for times. Note Sunday service added.
• 70X Brier Creek - First trip starts at 6:17 AM. Last departure at 7:10 PM.
  Saturday 6:17 AM and last at 5:10 PM.
