The design for this project is complete. City staff is now working on finalizing contract details to prepare for construction this fall.
Construction is expected to be completed before spring so work at the lake does not heavily impact park programs and access to the greenway.
The condition of the dam at Lower Durant Park was evaluated by Schnabel Engineering to determine dam safety issues that need to be addressed, including the flow of water downstream of the dam and the stability of the dam's upstream slope.
This project is being completed in partnership with the Stormwater Management Division and Parks, Recreation & Cultural Resources Department.
