The 2019 Raleigh Neighborhood Exchange (RNEX) is all about how creativity builds community engagement, gives us the space to investigate our past and future, forms positive change, and allows us a new opportunity to reach out to others.

Creativity in all forms is fundamental to building genuine communities! We all possess an innate ability to create, and how we choose to express our creativity will be as unique as or own fingerprint. This uniqueness also provides opportunities to share a side of you that can help spark your community. The 2019 Raleigh Neighborhood Exchange (RNEX) is all about how creativity builds community engagement, gives us the space to investigate our past and future, forms positive change, and allows us a new opportunity to reach out to others.

Keynote Speaker
Brandon Cordrey is the executive director of Visual Arts Exchange (VAE), a cultural arts organization and the force behind SPARKcon, the Triangle’s open-source creativity festival.

Cordrey oversees more than 80 exhibitions, more than 50 education programs, and over $90,000 of funding VAE provides to the Triangle’s creative community. During his tenure as director, Cordrey has prioritized making VAE more accessible to people with disabilities, putting money directly in the pockets of artists, and directing the organizations resources towards social justice efforts with the goal of creating a more diverse, inclusive, and equitable creative community. Cordrey joined the VAE team as director of exhibitions in 2013. His arts administration background includes work at Flanders Gallery, Arts Access, CAM Raleigh, Lee Hansley Gallery, and the Greenville Museum of Art. Brandon is also an artist, creating collage and installation work that has been exhibited across the Southeast.

You must pre-register to attend and there is a non-refundable registration fee, which includes continental breakfast. Registration ends Sept. 13 and payments are due by Sept. 19. *Once 200 registrations have been received, registration will close.

  • Raleigh residents fee is $10
  • Non-Raleigh resident fee is $15
