10 III. Construction Permit Fees Effective July 4, 2018. A Technology Surcharge of 4% will be added to Construction Permit fees, excluding the subcategories of Fire Protection Systems, Fire Inspections for Existing Buildings, Operational Fire Fees and Permits, and Tree Conservation Permit. A fee is charged to recover a portion of the City’s administrative costs for enforcement of state and local laws and ordinances related to building, electrical, plumbing, mechanical, landscaping/sedimentation, and floodplain control. The fee covers the construction of new buildings, alterations, additions; demolitions and the relocation of structures; installation and repair of driveway and sidewalks; installation of signs and land disturbing activities, among other work. All fees derived in this schedule will be rounded to the nearest dollar. Permit fees for building, electrical, plumbing and mechanical permits shall be based on the following computations, rounded to the nearest dollar. Building Permit Fee (D) Calculated Building Permit Fee (see II. Service Fees: Building Plan Review Fees) Electrical Permit Fee 100% of Calculated Building Permit Fee (D) = (D x 1) Plumbing Permit Fee 56% of Calculated Building Permit Fee (D) = (D x 0.56) Mechanical Permit Fee 77% of Calculated Building Permit Fee (D) = (D x 0.77) Permit Fees for New and All Other Construction Permit Fees for New Commercial Construction Shell and/or Foundation All permit fees shall be based on the computation of fees as in “Permit Fees for New and All Other Construction” information (see III. Construction Permit Fees: Permit Fees for New and All Other Construction). The interior completion permit fees shall be a minimum of $108 per trade.
