This project is part of the North Ridge Phase IV and V storm drainage improvement and stream stabilization project. The City's design consultant, Brown and Caldwell, Inc., has completed surveying cross sections of the stream in the project area. Now, the consultant is working on the final design plans for this project and preparing to submit the design for permit approval.

Project design for Knights Way includes replacing the existing 48-inch pipe under Knights Way with a box culvert that is five feet high and 10 feet wide near 1321 Knights Way and 7812 Blackwing Court. Stormwater runoff will come out of the pipe near the back of the property at 7812 Blackwing Court. Project location is noted in an overall project location map for the Northern North Ridge set of stormwater projects.
The goal of the project is to reduce structural flooding in the North Ridge community. In addition, the stormwater drainage system on Knights Way will be provide a 10-year level of service. This means that the street will not overtop with water in a storm event that has a one in 10 chance of occurring.

This project is located along a stream near North Ridge Country Club Lake within the North Ridge community. It is located in the Perry Creek Watershed. A history of flooding events in the area resulted in public meetings in April and June 2006. An engineering study was completed in December 2006. The engineering study recommended improvements to the existing undersized storm drainage system. Phases one through three have been completed.
