Water and sewer lines between Kimberly Drive and Shelley Rd. are being replaced. The water and sewer services to each property are also being replaced. The road closure for through traffic is in place from Northbrook Drive to Shelley Rd, the closure area is open to local traffic in order for residents to reach their properties. The current signed and marked detour route is shown here on the project web page under Maps & Plans. An alternate detour route is also shown here but is not marked with traffic signage.
The water and sewer construction for this project will include replacement of sewer lines, water lines, and rehabilitation of sewer lines along North Hills Drive from Lead Mine Rd. to Millbrook Rd. A majority of the main sewer line rehabilitation will be done in a trenchless method by Cast In Place Pipe lining to minimize street damage and traffic impacts. The water and sewer service lines for each property will also be replaced and reconnected at the City street right of way. Notices will be given before any service disruptions that may occur. The Public Utilities Department will have a full time On-Site Representative performing inspection of the construction that will serve as a liaison between the property owners/residents and the contractor.

This area along North Hills Drive has been identified by our operations department as a need for replacement due to the volume of maintenance issues. Some of the area homes date back to the 1960s and the clay sewer lines and cast iron water lines installed at that time have expended their useful service periods. This project will be done with a portion of the departments funding to replace or rehabilitate aging existing water and sewer lines within the City’s service area.
