Traffic Alert Update: 2500-2800 Blocks of Wake Forest Road for Sewer Line Installation

Nighttime Road Closure May 17 through Late Summer

Due to forecast of inclement weather, this project will now begin on Friday, May 17. The City of Raleigh will detour southbound lanes of traffic within the 2500 to 2800 block of Wake Forest Road, between East Six Forks Road and Hodges Street, for a sewer line installation.

Work is expected to be completed by late summer. Work will occur nightly Monday through Thursday between the hours of 9 p.m. and 6 a.m. Weekend closures will begin Friday at 9 p.m. and will end at 6 a.m the following Monday.

The following is a detour around the work site:

  • Motorists traveling southbound on Wake Forest Road turn left onto East Six Forks Road, right onto Atlantic Avenue, right onto East Whitaker Mill Road, back to Wake Forest Road; and,
  • Motorists traveling northbound on Wake Forest Road will have all lanes of traffic open throughout the duration of construction.

Motorists approaching this work area should expect delays and are advised to avoid this area if possible.

Customers in this area should not experience any interruption of service.
