Annual Street Resurfacing with Bicycle Markings

Street with bike marking

The City of Raleigh resurfaces City streets with pavement in poor condition on an annual basis. In addition to improving the condition of the pavement, resurfacing projects improve sidewalk ramps, crosswalks, and curbs. They also provide the City of Raleigh the opportunity to update street configurations to match the Comprehensive Plan (adopted by City Council in October of 2009) and the Bicycle Plan (adopted by City Council in May of 2016).

To implement the recommendations of the City’s plans, 16 streets on the preliminary 2018 resurfacing list are candidates for bicycle markings, which may impact travel lanes or the availability of on-street parking.

City staff contacted all property owners and tenants along the 16 streets via letter mailings and collected public feedback through an online survey and seven public meetings shown in the table below. Additional comments may be sent to Eric Lamb at eric.lamb@raleighnc.gov.
