Annual Street Resurfacing with Bicycle Markings

Last updated Dec. 14, 2017 - 8:57 am

The City of Raleigh resurfaces City streets with poor pavement condition on an annual basis. In addition to improving the pavement condition, resurfacing projects improve sidewalk ramps, crosswalks, and curbs. They also provide the City of Raleigh the opportunity to update street configurations to match the Comprehensive Plan (adopted by City Council in October  of 2009) and the Bicycle Plan (adopted by City Council in May of 2016).

To implement the recommendations of the City’s plans, 16 streets on the preliminary 2018 resurfacing list are candidates for bicycle markings, which may impact travel lanes or the availability of on-street parking.
