City Offices to Close July 4 for Independence Day Holiday

Trash Collection to Be Pushed Back One Day

The City of Raleigh’s administrative offices will be closed Wednesday, July 4, in observance of Independence Day. Emergency police, fire and rescue services may be reached by calling 9-1-1.

For most residents, the collection of garbage, recycling and yard waste will be pushed back one day later than normal during the week of July 2 due to the holiday. Tuesday’s routes will be collected as normal. However, Wednesday’s routes will be collected on Thursday, July 5; Thursday’s routes will be collected on Friday, July 6; and Friday’s routes will be collected on Saturday, July 7.

The City’s Yard Waste Center will be closed on July 4, but will operate on a regular schedule the remainder of the week.

GoRaleigh will operate buses on a weekend level service on the holiday, with final departures from GoRaleigh Station around 10 p.m. GoTriangle is not operating bus service on July 4. Regular bus service for both GoRaleigh and GoTriangle resumes on July 5.
